Resumo:
O CES, através do OPJ, é a organização contratada em Portugal pela Agência dos Direitos Fundamentais da União Europeia (FRA) integrando, assim, a rede FRANET. O trabalho a desenvolver contribuirá para os estudos e as análises comparativas da FRA sobre os principais desafios enfrentados pela União Europeia e os Estados-membros em matéria de direitos fundamentais. As análises realizadas são muito diversas e centram-se em temas como islamofobia; acesso à justiça penal por parte de vítimas de crimes contra as pessoas; discriminação no trabalho com base na deficiência e na idade; medidas contra os empregadores de nacionais de países terceiros em situação irregular; autorizações de residência de longa duração; luta contra o terrorismo e o impacto nos direitos fundamentais; aplicação do direito à presunção de inocência em processo penal e as implicações nos direitos fundamentais das pessoas envolvidas; medidas tomadas no quadro da pandemia COVID-19 e o seu impacto nos direitos fundamentais, com destaque para as pessoas idosas, pessoas de etnia cigana, pessoas sem abrigo e reclusos, entre outos. Para além desses temas, destacam-se, ainda, as análises que integram os relatórios anuais (Fundamental Rights Report) da FRA sobre a aplicação da Carta dos Direitos Fundamentais, igualdade e não discriminação, racismo e xenofobia, direitos das pessoas de etnia cigana, migrações e asilo, proteção de dados, direitos das crianças, acesso à justiça e os direitos das pessoas com deficiência.
